This is Susie typing here.
We have completely been blessed with gorgeous weather and scenery today. I'm pretty certain Lisa and I found one the only beautiful spots in Kansas yesterday. We were set to camp out at this tiny little county park off of Tuttle Dam and Reservoir and ended up popping our tent up behind a random church. It was near our destination, we just gave up looking after driving around on gravel roads for too long. Here she is...

Perfect setting too...right by the johns. I will speak for myself and say that I did not use them...that probably would've been an adventure in itself. I did see Lisa checking them out last night...I don't know. :)
Susie just out of the tent. Totally a glorious morning!
Not only did we camp behind a church, but right next to a cemetery. I went on a walk in it this morning...kinda felt like I was in a Jane Austin book or something. The lush Flint Hills in the background, horses grazing in a nearby field, Tuttle Lake in the distance and moss covered gravestones. It was totally succulent! The only thing missing was Mr. Darcy walking through the thick fog! Uhmm...only a select few of you will get that. :)

We are currently in Denver and milking the Starbucks internet connection as we should be.
Lisa here... I think Suz pretty much summed up the day well... Kansas was flat, we both took a nap, we didn't run out of gas, and we stopped at a sweet dairy queen to use the bathroom somewhere off I70. We can see the mountains out the window and we are trying to decide how far to go before we stop tonight (do we go over them or not?), but it's kind of late to go over them now. The stars were AmAZinG last night as we sat behind the church (built in 1867) making mac and cheese at 10pm. Afterwards, I read ps 19 and it just seemed like it could be the theme words for the things to come on our trip.
The heavens declare the glory of God / the skies proclaim the work of his hands. / Day after day they pour forth speech / night after night they display knowledge. / There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. / Their voice goes out into all the earth, / their words to the ends of the world.
